Coastal Foraging

This private experience is perfect for groups, couples or individuals wishing to learn new and exciting foraging skills in a beautiful coastal environment. Our aim for this course is to give you the best day out and help build your confidence with wild food while teaching you how to safely and sustainibly harvest coastal plants, seaweeds, shellfish and much more.

Under 16's are welcome to attend free of charge under adult supervision, however this course is primarily aimed at adults due to the course duration and depth of information you will receive.

If you are looking for a kids activity, please see our: Guided Rockpool Safari

What to expect...

This 6 hour course will begin with your guide Dan, meeting you at a specially selected, pre-determined location. After the initial introductions are out of the way you will be given a safety briefing and an introduction to what the day will entail, then the real fun can begin! You will be exploring different habitats from coastal urban areas, to grassland, beaches and rockpools with the help of your experienced your guide.

The first few hours of the course will be spent looking exclusively at wild plants,

learning how to identify the "edibles & deadibles" while gathering the ingredients for your wild salad starter, you will then move to a second location to forage for your seafood main course and explore the abundant marine life our coastline has to offer.

Around an hour before the end of the experience, Dan will cook up a 2-3 course meal on the beach using your foraged goodies, giving you a real taste for Coastal Foraging.

A typical Coastal Foraging Course will cover the following topics:

Wild Plants - Edible Sea Life - Edible Seaweeds
